St. Petersburg was constructed by the Emperor Peter the Great on northern border of Russia. Since ancient times for us Vikings, the German knights, Swedes attacked. It demanded construction of powerful fortresses. St. Petersburg was under construction in the beginning too as fortress on the Neva River. Fortresses of different time well remained. From St. Petersburg to any of them it is possible to reach easily on the car or the bus in 1-3 hours. For visit of fortress Narva is necessary the Schengen visa and the repeated Russian visa.
